Your new role directly impacts the success of our Construction and Maintenance Departments ensuring we have accurate up to date financial data. General Ledger & Financial Reporting
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain detailed schedules
- Maintain and manage chart of accounts
- Prepare journal entries and financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet)
- Manage fixed asset tracking and coordinate depreciation with CPA
- Lead year-end close processes and coordinate with CPA
- Assist with budgeting and financial analysis
Accounts Receivable & Billing
- Manage construction billing processes including AIA billing and contract compliance
- Oversee invoicing cycles for both construction and maintenance divisions
- Maintain project financial records and billing documentation
- Manage collections and resolve customer account issues
- Reconcile customer accounts and aging reports
Banking & Cash Management
- Prepare deposits and post to accounts
- Reconcile bank statements and petty cash
- Manage check processing, stop payments, and two-party checks
Tax & Compliance
- Prepare and file monthly sales/excise tax returns
- Track taxable and non-taxable transactions
- Manage corporate tax deposits and reporting
- Maintain business licenses and personal property filings
Insurance & Risk Management
- Administer vehicle, liability, and workers’ compensation insurance records
- Support payroll audits and claims reporting
- Maintain compliance documentation
Leadership & Cross-Functional Support
- Train and supervise bookkeeping/AP/AR staff
- Provide financial data for prequalification packages and reporting
- Serve as backup for payroll, AP, and HR-related accounting functions
- Support audits, including sales tax audits
Qualifications
- 5+ years of accounting experience (construction industry preferred)
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of job costing, A/R, and financial reporting
- Strong Experience with Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise
- Experience with construction billing (AIA, prevailing wage, etc.) is a strong plus
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
